Soalo is like jumping into a pool on a hot summer day…
The project was born in 2024 when two experienced musicians met: Kespar (rapper/singer/songwriter) and Wesma (beatmaker/keyboardist/guitarist).
The duo created their own sound, a mix of digital and organic tones influenced by hip-hop, Afrobeat, and Latin music. Between rap and singing, Soalo delivers a humanistic, authentic, and unifying message that takes the “rap game” in the opposite direction, sometimes with humor and irony.
Their influences range from Tribe Called Quest to Kaytranada, from Burna Boy to Mac Miller. In France, they can be classified alongside Aupinard and TIF in the new wave of urban music fusion. With the release of one single per month since the project’s inception, Soalo has accumulated more than 200K streams on streaming platforms. They will perform around thirty concerts in 2024-2025, including four festivals: Vendanges Musicales (Lyon region) as the opening act for JYHEUAIR and SYNAPSON / Magic Bus (Grenoble) with HIPPOCAMPE FOU / Saône’Automne (69) / Sentiers musicaux (38), as well as two coaching residencies at La Soierie (01) and Le Café Charbon (SMAC, Nevers), confirming their ability to captivate large and varied audiences with their warm and participatory mood.
